摘要: Abstract. Winter precipitation variability over the Iberian peninsula was investigated by obtaining spatial and temporal patterns. Empirical Orthogonal Functions were used to describe variance distribution compress data into a few modes. The corresponding patterns divide climatic regions according variations. associated time series related large scale circulation indices tropical sea surface temperature anomalies using lag cross-correlation cross-spectrum. major findings are: most influential for winter North Atlantic Oscillation East Atlantic/West Russian pattern; coherent oscillations detected at about eight years between some dynamic consequences of on examined during drought wet spells. In end statistical methods have been proposed downscale seasonal prediction. Keywords: precipitation, indices, climate, climate variations, trend
