COVID-19 in Northeast Brazil: achievements and limitations in the responses of the state governments

摘要: The COVID-19 pandemic has been most severe in the poorest regions of Brazil, such as states Northeast Region. lack national policies for control forced state and municipal authorities to implement public health measures. aim this study is show effect these measures on epidemic. highest incidence among nine was recorded Sergipe, Paraiba Ceara. Piaui, Ceara were that tested. Factors associated with transmission included high proportion people informal work. States international airports played an important role entry virus initial spread, especially All applied social distancing measures, banned events closed schools. response a significant increase distancing, Pernambuco, decline reproduction rate (Rt), separation curve observed cases versus expected if non-pharmacological interventions had not implemented all states.
