摘要: The hypothesis advanced by James W. Truman to explain the photoperiodically regulated circadian rhythm of adult eclosion in a Saturniid moth has been modified and extended form basis proposed Developmental Determination Model. This model postulates synthesis hypothetical substance (S) kinetics its metabolism presence or absence light energy. relationship scotophase duration temporal occurrence postulated “determination response thresholds” was estimated terms model. position “Determination Gate” also approximated system. characteristics were designed be consistent with observed effects different 24-hour photoperiods on incidence diapause among larvae European corn borer,Ostrinia nubilalis. Model shown capable generating all four types photoperiodic reponse curves reported existing literature.
