摘要: Abstract Models of visual word recognition differ in assumptions about the extent to which phonological information is used, and processes by it becomes available. These issues were examined two studies writing systems, English Chinese, are structured along different principles (alphabetic logographic, respectively). The results indicate that each system, a large pool higher frequency words recognized on basis, without mediation. Phonology only enters into processing lower words. Thus, although there may be other differences among systems influence processing, manner they represent phonology not relevant common consistent with parallel interactive model orthographic activated at latencies.
