Oral self-care practices and self-assessment of dental health reported by the dental students from Sebha (Libya)

摘要: Aim: This survey was designed to first – collect information on the oral self‑care practices and self‑assessment of their dental condition among students second, provide a recommendation (if required) improve health behavior. Materials Methods: The study design cross‑sectional using self‑administered, structured, close‑ended 25‑item questionnaire. Ninety‑five completed study. For purpose analysis, data were divided into four groups according year Descriptive statistics, including frequencies percentages calculated comparison between done Chi‑square test. Results: About 100% reported have used toothbrush fluoridated toothpaste. 69.47% practiced toothbrushing twice daily, 64.21% preferred use medium bristle toothbrush, 52.63% changed after 3 months; 30.52% stored in stand kept wash basin; 50.52% vertical method toothbrushing; 49.47% brushed for more than 1 min duration; only, 14.73% mouthwash regularly. Nearly 58.94% visited dentist problems 37.89% as part routine check‑up. Sixty per cent good overall health. Overall, intergroup showed statistically significant difference with regards storage, technique, decision buy rating cleanliness mouth visit dentist. Conclusion: followed by are not up mark. They require training motivation self‑implement preventive dentistry measure that they at school.
