Winter movements and site-fidelity of Pink-footed Geese Anser brachyrhynchus ringed in Britain, with particular emphasis on those marked in Lancashire

摘要: Census data show that the distribution of Pink footed Geese Anser brachyrhynchus in different parts their winter range Britain changes within seasons. Large numbers arrive during October and November Grampian Region, east-central Scotland, Borders Lothian Region Lancashire. Numbers peak England mid-winter, with few persisting into March, by which time more sedentary populations south-west Scotland throughout eastern have begun to be augmented, presumably through arrivals from further south. Maximum occur northern Moray Firth March onwards April. Individually marked captured Lancashire dispersed Ribble Estuary, south Mosses elsewhere north-west England.
