摘要: BACKGROUND: Omaha, an urban Nebraska community, represents 26% of the state's population. Activate formed in 2003, addressed obesity epidemic caused by physical inactivity and poor infrastructure to support active living community. INTERVENTION: Omaha's efforts focused on a strategic social-marketing campaign, using baseline annual data for guidance. Complementary programming was implemented parallel marketing campaigns. Safe Routes School projects were federally funded, 20 miles on-street bicycle facilities funded privately. The mayor's Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee formed, including directors from city planning public works. RESULTS: initiative became recognized community as lead resource promoting activity. This enabled be instrumental changes targeting underserved. leveraged additional $1,475,000 over 5 years. These funds created opportunities invest shared resources such providing bicycles underserved youth, building through initiatives, successful worksite programming. LESSONS LEARNED: Partners should utilized manner, where they are engaged purposefully serve role assuring outcomes. Community readiness determine focus policy, projects, promotional programmatic strategies, well integration these strategies.
