摘要: Abstract Plastic packaging brings safety, hygiene, and comfort to the consumers; however, they also bring a massive problem society environment – plastic waste streams. Approximately only one-third of is transformed into new recycled goods whereas rest incinerated, sent landfills or, end up in environment. Therefore, proper management streams has great importance from social, political, environmental perspectives. Recycling promoted among solid hierarchy as most preferred option after prevention reduction. However, holistic approach can reveal advantages, disadvantages hotspots structures. Life cycle assessment powerful method understand impacts recycling routes. Reaching use leaving households, undergoes serial processes until facilities. These pre-treatment steps are characterized by high variability due technological factors such collection sorting scenarios, spatial distance driven trucks or electricity mix. This paper investigates (i) possible advantages point compared door-to-door system (ii) influence relevant regional issues. The overarching goal study setting boundaries secure an environmentally meaningful chemical process quantify related background systems. A comparative LCA performed evaluate both systems subsequently, varying elements tested through sensitivity analysis. analyses include different scenarios where collection, transport practices at scope. results source separation aspects modeling.
