摘要: Seed banks are important for understanding vegetation dynamics and habitat regeneration potential. Biancana badlands vanishing landscapes where recurring non-recurring management has been advocated to restore vegetation. Here, we investigated germinable seed bank structure composition of a biancana badland in central Italy evaluated the relationship between standing soil bank. We identified four land cover classes five Tuscany (central Italy) collected data from 132 plots 660 cores. recorded 117 species The seedlings that emerged samples, mostly annual species, numbered 183 belonged 31 taxa (392.5 seedlings/m−2 on average across classes). Standing showed an aggregated spatial pattern with distinct communities while less pattern. similarity was low. In contrast features generally found disturbed pioneer communities, but line characteristics other badlands, particularly poor species.
