摘要: Abstract In this study the polymerization of monomer-containing micro-emulsions to yield porous polymeric membranes is demonstrated. A micro-emulsion system composed methyl methacrylate and acrylic acid as monomers, ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate crosslinking agent, sodium dodecylsulfate surfactant water was studied. An identical surfactant-free system, formed using same agent but without surfactant, also studied at certain compositions were polymerized. Our earlier work with these systems had indicated morphology polymer be dependent on microstructure precursor micro-emulsion. present which showed inferential evidence a bicontinuous structure polymerized form by photo-initiated ultra-violet radiation. The thickness 10–12 μm. swelling characteristics in material constituting evaluated function pH. tensile properties evaluated. permeability examined aqueous solutions acid. results indicate composition due relationship between structure. This conclusively shows feasibility synthesizing utilizing micro-emulsions.
