摘要: Between 1968 and 1985, 114 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue were evaluated in Department Radiation Oncology at University Virginia (Charlottesville, VA); these, 86 received treatment curative intent. The majority treated radiation therapy alone, whereas remainder preoperative or postoperative surgery. There 17 T1 primary malignancies, 40 T2, 27 T3, 2 T4. Clinically positive adenopathy was present 48% overall ranged from 35% group to 100% T4 group. Twenty-six percent either presented later had second malignancies. At 36 months, patient status as dead disease (37%), intercurrent (23%), alive (1%), without evidence (38%). Seventy-five external beam 32 an implant all part their treatment. Average doses range 6000 Gy. Adjusted local control rate 3 years not statistically different for techniques used on T2 rates 89% versus 88% lesions definitive therapy. For 67%, 71%, 83% definitive, preoperative, groups, respectively. T3 lesions, there close statistical significance corresponding being 47%, 50%, 100%, When effect implants examined no difference noticed implant. Survival improved presenting neck when compared N0 severe complication less than 5%, 6%.
