摘要: THIS IS the first report of persistence spirochetes in temporal bone congenital syphilitic deafness despite penicillin therapy. Report a Case This case was previously reported detail by Karmody and Schuknecht 1 to emphasize histopathological changes syphilis. The purpose this communication is present findings same specimen when studied with modified Krajian silver impregnation stain for spirochetes, 2 pertinent clinical data are therefore reviewed. patient died at age 48 1962. His mother had been treated syphilis which diagnosed he few weeks old. At 16 developed interstitial keratitis resulting partial blindness. 18 years hearing loss began, progressed rapidly complete right ear severe but incomplete on left.
