摘要: The photophysical properties of a series laser−dye-labeled poly(aryl ether) dendrimers, generations 1−4, have been determined. dendrimers act as extremely efficient light-harvesting antennae capable transferring light energy through space from their periphery to core. ability these molecules increases with generation due an increase in the number peripheral chromophores. energy-transfer efficiency was found be quantitative for 1−3, only slight decrease observed fourth (∼93%). Due high extinction coefficients and fluorescence quantum yields chromophores intramolecular transfer dendritic assemblies, macromolecules potential become integral components molecular photonic devices.
