摘要: An important type of waste is the sewage sludge generated in sewage-treatment plants. Sludge requires stabilization before its final disposal. Moreover, according to EU directive 91/271/EC concerning treatment, should be reused if required, and, this case, all necessary precautions minimize any probable harmful effect on environment taken. a valuable source organic matter and nutrients principle, it can used as soil amendment. However, general, loaded with contaminants such pathogens, heavy metals, xenobiotic compounds, disposal may problematic, even following conventional anaerobic digestion. Xenobiotics are anthropogenic compounds that have been part widely consumable goods naturally contained wastewater. Most xenobiotics, due their hydrophobic nature, tend absorbed activated other suspended solids sewage. They usually recalcitrant degradation accumulate environment. In what follows, fate some key xenobiotics (phthalate esters, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, surface-active agents) routinely identified reviewed.
