摘要: The importance of accurate staging according to the international TNM system non-small cell lung cancer for patient management and evaluation individual prognosis cannot be overemphasized. In current classification reported by American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) (2002) International Union Against (IUAC) (2002), primary tumor is subdivided into four categories (T1 T4) depending size, site, local involvement. Lymph node spread has been bronchopulmonary (N1), ipsilateral mediastinal (N2), contralateral or supraclavicular disease (N3). Metastases are absent (M0) present (M1). descriptors include clinical as well pathologic parameters. Using criteria alone, a significant number tumors understaged, compared stage based finally sampled tissues. recognized internationally standard extension. Four stages have identified that associated with difference in 5-year survival system. It important emphasize grouping should generally applied also small carcinoma (SCLC). within “limited disease” “extensive widely used describe SCLC. Nevertheless, significance SCLC advantage providing uniform detailed spread.
