Promoting innovation and excellence to face the rapid diffusion of novel psychoactive substances in the EU: the outcomes of the ReDNet project.

摘要: Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology (IPIN), Warsaw, PolandObjectives The recent emergence new psychoactive compounds (novel substances (NPS)) has raised prominent challengesin the fields drug policy, substance use research, public health service provision. Recreational Drugs European Network project,funded by Commission, was implemented to improve information stream young people professionals about effects/risks NPS identifying online products disseminating relevant through technological tools.Methods Regular multilingual qualitative assessments websites, drugs fora other resources were carried out using Googlesearch engine in eight languages from collaborating countries. These included following: UK, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Hungary,Poland, Italy Spain. Products tested prevention messages developed disseminated via tools such asinteractive SMS alert, social networking (Facebook, Twitter), Multimedia (You Tube), Smartphone applications (iPhone) andvirtual learning environments (Second Life).Results project established itself as first Europe-wide programme designed forNPS based on efficacy novel communication technology-based forms intervention. More than 650 productsand combinations identified; target population advice given both Union/international agencies national policy makers.Conclusions Web-monitoring activities are essential for mapping diffusion can besuccessfully incorporated specific programmes.
