摘要: Most investigations of unconscious perception use a dissociation design in which an awareness variable (e.g., detection) is compared with perceptual processing identification). Unconscious inferred when the lacks sensitivity to stimulus but evidence still obtained. In two studies we examined relationship between word identification and detection (Study 1) or discrimination (words vs. nonwords; Study 2) variety techniques. both studies, dissociations suggestive occurred data were subjective threshold approaches, these differences disappeared variables techniques derived from signal theory (SDT). These results do not support paradigms. addition, appears be most sensitive appropriate task for assessing awareness, provided that several SDT assumptions are met.
