摘要: Reaction bonded silicon carbide (SIC) ceramics were successfully fabricated by gelcasting using a new non-aqueous, low-toxicity gel system based on the polymerization of phenol-formaldehyde resin and furfuryl alcohol. The effect solid loading rheological properties slurries, green bodies sintered ceramics, have been systematically investigated. suspension able to meet requirements casting process is as high 70 wt%. drying shrinkage strength SiC/polymer network decrease with ranging from 55 wt% because reduction pre-mixed solutions. On other hand fracture toughness bending increase in loading. highest values observed at 378 ± 16 MPa 4.22 0.13 MPam1/2, respectively, for composites produced
