摘要: The effect of a small admixture high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with high or low viscosity to polystyrene/polyamide (PS/PA) blends various compositions was studied. PS/PA composition near 50/50 form sheet-like fiber-like morphology at mixing that passes the cocontinuous structure during compression molding. Ternary PS/PA/HDPE ratio about show similar behavior. Generally, neither continuity nor shape PS and PA phases changed qualitatively by addition amount HDPE. In agreement existing rules for ternary blends, HDPE particles prefer contact phase phase. On other hand, none these explains why number subinclusions were dispersed into instead HDPE-PS core-shell lower Gibbs free energy. Quantitative evaluation size in matrix showed previously proposed rule stating, third immiscible component leads strong decrease particles, not valid studied this work.
