摘要: A recently reported anomaly in the time structure of signals KARMEN neutrino detector suggests decay a new particle x, produced + → µ x with mass mx = 33.9 MeV. We discuss constraints and difficulties interpreting as neutrino. show that mainly-sterile scenario is compatible all laboratory constraints, within narrow limits on mixing parameters, although there are problems astrophysical cosmological constraints. This predicts appreciable numbers other x-decay events different origins structures should also be observable detector. Such found LSND experiment may relevant to search for ¯ µ e oscillations.
