摘要: Industrial-area trees have, with few exceptions, been neglected by the research community as well urban forestry management programs. A recent project in Portland, Oregon, provides both some data and a program model that easily could be replicated other communi- ties. An inventory of Northwest Industrial Neighbor- hood Association (NINA) district identified 966 street 1,140 unplanted/potential tree sites, for stocking level 46%. While this figure is low relative to most segments forest, it was received optimistically because higher than had ex- pected an industrial area demonstrated great deal potential expanding forest through additional plantings. Diversity indicated only 17 gen- era were represented, two genera (Acer Prunus) overplanted, provided guidance on which added increase diversity. NINA officials have formed partnership local interests are using undertake 10- year planting district.
