摘要: Abstract The plane-wave solution of Maxwell's equations for a stratified medium is split into series terms, with simple physical meaning, the first which constitutes W.K.B. approximation. original vector problem reduced to scalar by introducing convenient Hertzian vector. application saddle-point method individual terms mentioned leads geometric-optical approximations.
