摘要: Trimeric sodium channels of the DEG/ENaC family have important roles in neurons, but specific functions different subunits present heteromeric are poorly understood. We previously reported that Drosophila subunit Ppk25 is essential a small subset gustatory neurons for activation male courtship behavior, likely through detection female pheromones. Here we show that, like mutations ppk25, another gene, nope, specifically impair females. nope regulatory sequences drive reporter gene expression labellum wings, and legs, including all which ppk25 function required In addition, gustatory-specific knockdown impairs courtship. Further, impaired response mutant males to females rescued by targeted functions. However, nonredundant functions, as does not compensate lack vice versa. Moreover, Nope form complexes when coexpressed cultured cells. Together, these data indicate polypeptides specific, females, suggest hypothesis channel
