摘要: Glued laminated timber consists today predominantly of softwoods as they are currently the main source structural in northern hemisphere. Due to several reasons, hardwoods will increasingly gain a more important role sustainable material resource which course therefore also impact glulam production. In Europe, wood species white oak (Quercus Robur, Quercus Petraea) is most other than beech, and being used applications. Recently, first national European technical approvals were issued for glulam. The design strength values based on extensive testing campaigns, with emphasis differences inherent between growth regions raw itself. paper reports basic properties requirements laminations beams specified approvals. Further, essential test results form basis characteristic stiffness parameters given, showing clear effect size bending strength. order assess beam characteristics lamination finger joint properties, applicability new equations softwood discussed. case where ratio vs. at least one, typical softwoods, model applies considered hardwood databases well. However, when reaches very high means range 80 MPa 120 MPa, drops significantly below one. It then shown that capacity can be well predicted specific glulams by serial model, effectively including stress gradient adjacent laminations.
