摘要: Background: Diabetes mellitus constitutes a serious public health problem. Recent advances in therapies are unable to control its vascular complications. New medications have been suggested but without comprehensive knowledge of the signaling pathways induced by hyperglycemia. Objective: To review mechanisms inducer and effector phases metabolic cascade diabetes, with emphasis on steps that targeted date The route from hyperglycemia advanced glycation end products (AGE)–receptor (RAGE) complex formation is as target for new therapies. Methods: A literature, including historical papers recent manuscripts. Results: All components initially activated or indirectly formed due via two-phase represents dangerous route, especially diabetics. experiments drugs clinical trials targeting this pathway examined.
