摘要: The pineal hormone melatonin regulates seasonal reproductive function and modulates circadian rhythms in mammals. We now report the cloning characterization of a high affinity receptor for from sheep human. cDNAs encode proteins that are members newly discovered group within G protein-coupled family. Expression human receptors COS-7 cells results 2-[125I]iodomelatonin binding pharmacological characteristics similar to endogenous receptors. Functional studies NIH 3T3 stably expressing show mammalian is coupled inhibition adenylyl cyclase through pertussis toxin-sensitive mechanism. In situ hybridization mRNA several mammals reveal signals hypophyseal pars tuberalis hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus. cloned likely mediates actions
