UV-Vis Spectroscopy: A New Approach for Assessing the Color Index of Transformer Insulating Oil.

摘要: Monitoring the condition of transformer oil is considered to be one preventive maintenance measures and it very critical in ensuring safety as well optimal performance equipment. Various properties contents can monitored such acidity, furanic compounds color. The current method used determine color index (CI) produces an error 0.5 measurement, has high risk human handling error, additional expense sampling transportations, limited samples measured per day due health reasons. Therefore, this work proposes determination CI using ultraviolet-to-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy. Results show a good correlation between absorbance spectral responses oils from 300 nm 700 nm. Modeled equations were developed relate with cutoff wavelength absorbance, area under curve 360 600 These verified another set samples. equation that describes relationship wavelength, shows higher accuracy root mean square (RMSE) 0.1961.
