摘要: Cropland expansion threatens biodiversity by driving habitat loss and impacts carbon storage through of biomass soil (C). There is a growing concern land-use change (LUC) to cropland will result in ecosystem function various services essential for human health well-being. This paper examines projections future from an integrated assessment model IMAGE 3.0 under "business as usual" scenario the direct impact on both C storage. By focusing hotspots Alliance Zero Extinction (AZE) sites, well potential endangered critically species are explored. With regards storage, vegetation standing stocks examined. We show that if projected trends realized, there likely be severe consequences these resources. Substantial such Indo-Burma, Philippians expected 50% AZE sites losing part their last remaining habitat. An estimated 13.7% 4.6% also lost areas affected with Brazil Mexico being identified priorities terms losses expansion. Changes policy regulate expansion, increased measures protect natural resources, highly required prevent future.
