摘要: The interplay between the broken symmetry and boundary conditions alters profoundly electronic properties of carbon single-wall nanotubes (SWNTs) finite-lengths. For SWNTs $(p,q)$ characterized by $p=k+l,$ $q=k\ensuremath{-}l,$ $0l~ll~k,$ $k=1,2,\dots{},$ energy gaps for finite belonging to a given family k exhibit strikingly similar oscillating patterns even NT sections, but gap maxima different lengths periodicities with amplitudes oscillations diminishing from armchair, chiral, zigzag SWNTs.
