摘要: We have produced wires with diameters as small 80 A\r{} by electroplating Au into etched nuclear tracks in mica. At low temperatures T, these exhibit a resistance R which increases T is decreased, and below about 3 K, varies approximately ${T}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1/2}$. This, together the magnitude of rise, reasonable agreement previous results for somewhat larger lithographically made from other materials, appears to be due predominantly electron-electron interaction effects. The behavior at higher temperatures, 3\char21{}7 does not follow this functional form, different than has been observed experiments. This consistent expectations based on theory alone, but may accounted for, least qualitatively, if one assumes that, while interactions are major contributor change, localization also important range. By varying thickness mica, it was possible make short 1.5 \ensuremath{\mu}m. To within experimental error, rise independent length wire. dependence found wires.
