摘要: In this study, gellan gum-grafted-poly((2-dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate) (GG-g-poly(DMAEMA)) hydrogel was made by free radical polymerization in aqueous media employing microwave irradiation technique. Ammonium persulfate (APS)/N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) were used as initiator-accelerator pair. N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) has been crosslinker. The gel characterized FTIR, XRD, TGA, DSC and SEM techniques. characteristic peaks at 1724, 2630, 1147, 1650 1535cm(-1) the IR spectrum confirms grafting formation. TGA data reveals that synthesized gels thermally more stable than gum. XRD studies confirm crystalline nature of material. Swelling behaviour under different temperatures pH conditions investigated. results indicated drastic changes swelling around 7.0 50°C. evaluated an adsorbent to remove anionic dye, methyl orange (MO), from solution. for maximum adsorption optimized, is observed fit best Freundlich isotherm model capacity found be 25.8mgg(-1). kinetic analysis revealed a second-order process. thermodynamic parameters showed exothermic non-spontaneous high temperatures.
