摘要: Background Pre-diabetes affects one-third of adults in the USA and a subset will progress to type 2 diabetes. Our objective was determine whether disease-specific health plan, known as Diabetes Health Plan (DHP), designed improve care for persons with pre-diabetes diabetes also led lower rates incident among pre-diabetes. Methods We examined eligibility claims data from large payer who offered DHP national sample employers. included adult employees dependents were continuously covered by over 4-year study window. The primary outcome conducted propensity score matching at employer level find comparable control groups offering standard plans. Using an adjusted logistic regression model individual level, we tested association between group status diagnosis during 3 years postbaseline follow-up. Findings analysis 11 965 enrolled (n=1538 nine employers DHP; n=10 427 105 plans). had 8% absolute predicted probability compared individuals benefit plans (29% vs 37% controls, p Conclusions A pre-diabetes-specific design associated represents area needed future study.
