摘要: We conducted a standardized review of research on the prevalence alcohol use or misuse (including disorders), and association with post-operative surgical complications among US patients. Twenty seven studies that included preoperative measure at least 50 patients were identified using search strategy (1950-April 2007). Twenty-two reported preva- lence misuse, which was highest in major otolaryngology surgeries (mostly for cancer injuries: 22- 88.5%) thoracic surgery (lung transplant resections: 29-33%) ranged from 8-28% remaining studies. Nineteen examined between pre-operative consumption com- plications suggesting positive associations risk delirium, pneumonia, cognitive decline, overall complications, death. Most had methodological limitations, especially widespread drinking assessment methods cannot distinguish misuse.
