Endoscopic Application of Nd:YAG Laser in General Surgery: Technique and Results

摘要: Summary The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the value Nd:YAG laser application in general surgery. From 1981 1996 1009 endoscopic therapies with were performed 580 patients. Lasers applied achieve recanalisation benign and malignant stenosis gastrointestinal tract. 57 patients treated for esophageal stenosis. One perforation occurred. Quality life could be improved 50%. Mean survival 7 months. Malignant rectum 279 Two perforations developed. Improvement symptoms achieved 52% 16 In conclusion therapy proved an efficient instrument palliative treatment stenosing rectal cancer selected diseases.
