摘要: After immunization of chimpanzees against HIV antigens, antibodies that mediate antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) were evaluated and compared with anti-HIV-antibody levels detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) neutralizing antibody titers. Adult immunized different HIV-1 (LAV-BRU) antigen preparations: recombinant vaccinia virus (rVV) expressing gp160, p25 or p27nef; formalin- beta-propiolactone-inactivated whole (inHIV); soluble gp160 either associated not other proteins; a 25-mer peptide from the V3 region gp120 coupled KLH (V3-KLH). Immunization various rVV mixtures induced no borderline ADCC increase above preimmune serum levels. Stronger more sustained reactivity was elicited inHIV. Purified antigens activity when naive; increased remained at same level animals had been preimmunized and/or This type apparently did depend on whether alone mixed proteins used for immunization. The injection V3-KLH resulted in only little, if any, recall response. ELISA titers significantly correlated titers, but independent an indication two latter activities are mediated antibodies. Therefore, is manner as inHIV purified preparations. results obtained three this series, which subsequently challenged infectious through intravenous route, suggest may be considered vaccination purposes.
