摘要: Abstract1. Ephedra water decoction (EWD) and cough tablets containing ephedra liquorice (maxing tablets, MXCT) have been widely used in the treatment of asthma. In clinic, EWD MXCT may be prescribed with theophylline, one most popular antiasthmatic drugs. CYP1A2 CYP2E1 are mainly involved oxidative metabolism theophylline human liver. Drug interactions involving cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoforms generally two types: enzyme induction or inhibition. Enzyme inhibition reduces metabolism, whereas can increase it.2. To evaluate pretreatment effect on CYP2E1, activity, protein expression mRNA levels were determined. After MXCT, increased significantly (p < 0.05), but activity did not change compared control.3.
