摘要: Bone is the primarily preferred site for breast and prostate cancer to metastasize. metastases are responsible most deaths related cancer. The bone's particular microenvironment makes it conducive growth of cells. Studies on bone metastasis have focused interaction between cells microenvironment. Osteocytes, common cell type tissue, received little attention in metastasis, although they master signal sensors, integrators, skeleton transducers. They play an important role regulating mass by acting both osteoblasts osteoclasts, through release proteins such as sclerostin, Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1), fibroblast factor 23 (FGF23). Osteocytes been extensively re-evaluated, light their multiple functions: with different experimental approaches, has shown that, indeed, osteocytes actively involved colonization tissue present review focuses recent research that cancers. Moreover, studies here summarized open up perspectives new therapeutic approaches modulating activity improve condition metastatic patients. A better understanding complex interactions bone-resident indispensable identifying potential targets stop tumor progression prevent metastases.
