What Do Police Officers Really Want From the Mental Health System?

摘要: A sample of 309 police officers in Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Ohio, were interviewed about their contacts with mentally ill individuals need for various kinds information assistance from the mental health system. During a one-month period, almost 60 percent had responded to at least one call involving presumably person, 42 more than such call. Twenty-two dealt person who was also retarded. Police indicated that they most needed access an individual's past history violence on suicide attempts, quick on-site by professionals assessing suicidal or hostile persons.
