摘要: Personalization has become a unifying theme and dominant narrative across public services in England. Key to understanding the dominance of personalization is recognition that it story told about services, their history roles experiences people who use them work them. Like other stories compelling, emotionally resonant, but also multi-interpretable. This article identifies five key themes which are central story-line, noting reliance on combination formal evidence, personal narratives common sense. These are: (1) works, transforming people's lives for better; (2) person-centred approaches reflect way live lives, rather than artificial departmental boundaries; (3) applicable everyone, not just with social care needs; (4) experts own lives; (5) will save money. The goes examine some complexities audiences face translating story-line into policy programmes frontline practice. Three aspects particular considered: ambiguity as guide action; tensions between user empowerment responsibility; extent used legitimize reforms, budget cuts.
