摘要: Variation in gene regulation may be involved the differences observed for life history traits within species. American eel (Anguilla rostrata) is well known to harbor distinct ecotypes a single panmictic population. We examined expression of genes appetite as lipid and glycogen among glass eels migrating different locations on Canadian east coast captured at two periods upstream migration. Gene levels three reference five candidate were analyzed by real-time PCR with Taqman probes recently wild eels. All transcripts detected Of genes, bile salt activated triacylglycerol lipases respectively 7.65 3.25 times more expressed from St. Lawrence estuary than those Nova Scotia, there was no effect related two-week difference capture date. These explained 82.41% dissimilarity between rivers. In contrast, phosphorylase, ghrelin, leptin receptor showed significant transcription. results confirmed molecular level an observation that made phenotypic have greater capacity use reserves sustain their metabolic needs. observations add body evidence supporting hypothesis regional variation determined early part this likely under genetic control.
