摘要: One unusual group of excitations in which persistent spectral hole-burning has been observed consists infrared vibrational transitions impurity molecules solids. Examples include 1,2-difluoroethane rare gas matrices, perrhenate ions alkali halide crystals, and most recently, cyanide nitrite KBr. The hole formation mechanisms involve molecular reorientation or conformational changes at low temperatures induced by excitation an internal mode the molecule.
