摘要: The defining characteristic of the digital era is potential that it brings for “real-time” interconnection between anything can be measured, expressed, or controlled digitally. World Wide Web stems from one type interconnection: well-defined standards linking a “browser” with remote machines presenting information to browsed. Yet technology enables more than just new approaches presentation, browsing, and searching. It create dynamic connections different physical spaces across sensory boundaries, provide experiential interfaces interaction move beyond mouse, keyboard, screen. relate space museum virtual both individual group experiences. Using our past media-rich installation performance work as reference point, this paper will present vision connection-making tool defines genres experiences existing works. authors’ recent works include interactive installations Time&Time Again… (with Lynn Hershman, commissioned Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum, Germany), Invocation & Interference (premiered at Festival International d’Arts Multimedia Urbains, France), Behind Bars Central American Film Video Festival, Nicaragua), …two, three, many Guevaras (commissioned Fowler Museum Cultural History, Los Angeles), well UCLA collaborations Fahrenheit 451, Macbett, Iliad Project.
