摘要: Cushing's syndrome (CS) results from chronic hypercortisolemia. Hypercortisolism can be divided into two categories: adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) dependent and ACTH independent. The term disease is associated with only the central form of excess, caused by a corticotropic micro- or macroadenoma pituitary. This article gives an overview on causes hypercortisolism diagnostic therapeutic procedures.
