摘要: The superfamily of transforming growth factors-beta (TGF-beta) comprises an expanding list multifunctional proteins serving as regulators cell proliferation and differentiation. Prominent members this family include the TGF-beta s 1-5, activins, bone morphogenetic a recently discovered glial line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). In present study we demonstrate compare survival promoting neuroprotective effects 1, -2 -3, activin A GDNF for midbrain dopaminergic neurons in vitro. All increase tyrosine hydroxylase-immunoreactive isolated from embryonic day (E) 14 rat mesencephalon floor to varying extents (TGF-beta 2.5-fold, 1.6-fold). s, did not augment numbers very rarely observed astroglial cells visualized by using antibodies fibrillary acidic protein had no effect on monitored incorporation BrdU. 1 protected against N-methyl-4-phenylpiridinium ion toxicity. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis indicated that 2 mRNA, but is expressed E14 mesencephalic cultures. We conclude 1-3, share capacity developing neurons, which mediated accompanied proliferation.
