摘要: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the major causes morbidity and mortality in adults. Anemia known as comorbidity many chronic diseases that can increase COPD. Recent studies have shown anemia may be more prevalent than expected COPD patients disabilities In this study we evaluated correlation between severity referred to teaching hospitals Tehran University Medical Sciences (TUMS), Tehran, Iran.In cross-sectional 760 with dyspnea who 96 stable were categorize using a GOLD criteria from mild moderate, severe very severe. was determined hemoglobin <13 g/dL men <12 women, respectively. Demographic characteristics, spirometry parameters laboratory findings compared anemic non-anemic groups Student t-test regression tests (SPSS v.18 software). The Mean age 65 ± 13.07 years (59.4% male). Overall prevalence 27% there no anemia. Anemic significantly older (71.1 8.5 vs. 65.4± 12.8 years; p = 0.030). RBC count lower group (4.3 0.5 5.02± 0.8 ×106/µL; < 0.001). Erythropoietin levels higher (16.33±2.43 10.22 2.67 mu/ml; 0.001) significant inverse vs erythropoietin (r= -0.8).There high patients. Thus, treatment improve quality life these Further comprehensive are needed for determination exact its physiologic effects
