Some aspects of self-excited vibration in compressor and turbine rotor systems

摘要: A description is given of some problems caused by unsteady forces generated the leakage flow through turbomachinery labyrinth seals. Three examples where such are encountered in compressor and turbine practice discussed. The first example concerns serious damage to a rotor chemical factory, while other two refer behaviour steam turbines electric power stations. Malfunctions, out three cases, occurred after modernization rotors thorough overhaul machines. During new seals were applied, i.e. shaft for type blade shrouding seal turbine.
