摘要: Panulirus argus virus 1 (PaV1) is an unclassified, pathogenic first discovered in Caribbean spiny lobsters from the Florida Keys, USA, and has since been con- firmed other parts of Caribbean. Several studies have examined prevalence, pathogenicity, population dynamics pathogen lobster host, but little known about genetic diversity virus. We analyzed a fragment viral DNA col- lected which provided insight into PaV1. The variation sequences, both within between individual lobsters, indicates that can be infected with multiple strains. Laboratory experiments uninfected were serially exposed to inoculated PaV1 implied rapid mutation strains unlikely suggest there may endemic In addition, we P. postlarvae (pueruli), suggesting disperse through long-lived (5 7 mo) planktonic phyllosoma larvae — novel mechanism for dispersal viruses sea.
