摘要: BACKGROUND: Hippotherapy is the use of equine movement in physical, occupational, or speech therapy order to obtain functional improvements patients. Studies show improvement motor function and sensory processing for patients with a variety neuromuscular disabilities, developmental disorders, skeletal impairments as result using hippotherapy. OBJECTIVE: The primary objective this study identify pervasiveness hippotherapy Southern California, any factors that impair its utilization. METHODS: One hundred fifty-two rehabilitation centers California counties Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, Bernardino, Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Kern County were identified, surveyed ascertain if utilized, not, why not. RESULTS: Through review forty facilities responded our inquiry, indicates majority are familiar hippotherapy, however, only seven have reported indeed available an option at their centers. CONCLUSION: It concluded used broad based array physical limited ability be primarily due remuneration issues.
