摘要: The Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) is a collaborative project between the National Immunization Program of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) several large health maintenance organizations (HMOs) in United States. began 1990 with primary purpose rigorously evaluating concerns about safety vaccines. Computerized data on vaccination, medical outcome (e.g. hospital discharge, outpatient visits, emergency room deaths), covariate birth certificates census) are prospectively collected at multiple HMOs (initially four) linked under joint protocol analyses. Approximately 6 million people (2% US population) members participating VSD. VSD has proven to be valuable resource that provided important information number vaccine issues. databases infrastructure created have also opportunities address other immunization questions including vaccination coverage cost-effectiveness. In recent investigation intussusception following rotavirus methodology was expanded include 10 managed care organizations. A cohort study conducted allowed estimation incidence rates attributable risks associated vaccine. Published 2001 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
