摘要: In humans, taurine (2-aminoethanesulfonic acid) is mainly obtained from diet. Despite the fact that health effects of are largely unknown, has become a popular supplement and ingredient in energy drinks recent years. Evidence mechanistic animal studies shown main biological actions include its ability to conjugate bile acids, regulate blood pressure (BP), act as potent antioxidant anti-inflammatory agent. These suggest high levels may be protective against coronary heart disease (CHD). However, data epidemiologic intervention humans limited. We review what known about taurine's metabolism, transportation body, food sources, evidence effect on cardiovascular vitro, animal, studies. also discuss shortcomings human need addressed future. The identification preventive factor for CHD great public importance.
